Knee surgery in two weeks. Acl reconstruction how long until I’m back on the mats ?

How painful is this surgery I’ve heard some different things

I had my ACL reconstructed about 25 years ago, so take this for what it's worth. The pain was really bad for about 3 days. At times, the pain during rehab was just as bad. I didn't do BJJ back then, but it probably would've taken me 4-6 months to get back on the mats.

This being 2024, I doubt your recovery will be that long. I also waited too long to have my surgery done, and as a result had a lot of scar tissue that had to be broken down during therapy and two screws also had to inserted during surgery to keep the meniscus together.
