Bill Burr | Club Random with Bill Maher

I said he wasn’t completely wrong. It’s disingenuous to act like there isn’t a portion of that population that doesn’t consider Hamas a terrorist group, and thinks the Jewish people in that region need to be removed ‘from the river to the sea..’

Maher specifically labeled the protests as supporting Hamas and terrorism. Burr corrected him with Palestinian. Maher doubled down and called ir the same thing. He's disingenuous and so are you. You're a Trump supporter right? I'm sure you don't support every Trump rally getting labelled racist.

It's the exact same crap the neocons pulled on antiwar protestors during the Iraq war, smearing everyone as Saddam supporters.

Speaking of terrorist groups, do you consider the IDF a terrorist group?

Burrs correction wasn’t 100% accurate either. Again, there are plenty of protesters at these rallies that want Israel wiped off the map. You aren’t having any discussion on this in good faith if you can’t acknowledge that there’s some some fucked up shit going on there.

And let’s not act like Maher is some hardliner ‘NeoCon’ either.. I’d be saying the same in reverse if what Maher said went unchallenged. Not all the protesters are bad actors -some are tho.

As for my personal politics -fuck politics. Feel free to label me whatever you want, you’re swinging at air there.

Maher came off as a bigger douche bag than normal.
I’ve seen both these guys live. Maher isn’t an intellectual as much he would like to consider himself to be. Burr ate his lunch.
Pretty sad when someone that was as anti war as Maher was throughout the Bush Years becomes the War Hawk we see today.

Love how much everyone hates Maher, and he doesn't give a fuck what any of you think. Such a Chad.
It's not uncommon for morons and douchebags to not care what people think of them. That's anything but a flex

To his credit, he still does these podcasts where he proves he's just a smarmy dork who only knows base level talking points. I really don't know why he does it, as anyone with a brain can call him out on his bullshit, without the constrictions of Maher leading a panel discussion on his cable show, where he calls all the shots.

At the very least, he can roll with it. I'll give him credit for taking his lumps and not being a bitch about it. Burr ain't the first one to expose him, and he puts all of it out there. He could very easily not put it out there, to protect his ego. Gotta respect that at least.

It's not uncommon for morons and douchebags to care deeply what people think of them. So you've just formed an observation that holds little meaning or value.

Maher has been around for decades despite that-- some might say because-- he has never feared to voice his beliefs without regard for whomever's jimmies it rustles. There are few other political pundits who could claim this.

Strange that as Maher aged he actually tilted more to the left, favoring greater government interventionist policies, against his earlier more libertarian tendencies, to the point he could no longer be accurately construed as anything but a staunch leftist, and yet by today's standards, because this country appears to be increasingly composed of douchebags and morons, who are stretching the left and right further and further apart, he is considered by many to be more of a left-centrist.

And that's why he's getting this hate. Because he's a centrist. There's nothing more controversial.

I'm reminded of that thread we had a few months ago about the right-wing guys who used an A.I. to automatically photoshop raunchy photos that women were uploading to social media to make them less slutty, covering them up with clothes, or putting them into domestic settings where they looked like well-adjusted mothers, and the feminazis online lost their minds. They foamed and frothed at the mouths about how evil the AI script was because it dared to imagine a world that preserved their modesty. Even leftists on this board noted how strangely ironic it was that this proved, today, the more risque way to portray women is to not sexualize them. Being slutty, being publicly naked, being pornographic...that's the status quo. No edge there, anymore.

To be a centrist right now is downright revolutionary. People will hate you for it. But what's so weird about that is: most people are centrists. They're just not loudmouths about it. Maher is.

I'm not reading all this

Watched it all it was pretty funny and good, if anyone thinks they were serious with in sort of debating there's a pregnant man out there thank you for your support.

The right thinks Maher is a dipshit. The left thinks he's a Nazi for being against the trans bullshit and also labels him a fat shamer.

Maher's new routine in his New Rule segments is so repetitive and transparent:

He just calls out the left for the majority of it, but because he feels he may have pissed off a big portion of the left during the segment, he ends it with one line bashing the right in a really out of the blue, non-sequitor manner. It's a way of saying "Hey I'm still on your side, and people in the middle, remember to vote blue no matter who!"
I don't watch, to be fair, but I was right there with you until the last sentence; I'd say instead it's 100% self-serving.

Bill Burr roasting Bill Maher in real time is so good. Just truly puts a cap on Maher's whole elitist "old man liberal" schtick, while making Burr look like the adult in the room. Maher being jealous of other comics while Burr puts him in his place with "Nah man, we're both super lucky."
