Dominick Cruz commentating

Basically your whole opinion on who is the better commentator or not is who is shilling or not. Just so ya know, Cruz also works for the UFC. They all shill to some degree.

I only brought up Jimmy Smith, who's retired now, the rest are very active.

Cruz has outrageous takes that aren't even close to being true in the fight. Rogan and DC know what they're talking about and also hype the fans up when something happens. Cruz is falling asleep backstage before he even gets on air. Then he doesn't have a good take on any fight he commentates.

Each to their own.
Hardy isn’t a ufc commentator and neither is shale , I was speaking in real terms, you’re doing hypothetical, if that’s the case I want BAs, quadros, and mir

"Nope. You can't lift from this position."

*Andrade slams Rose on her fucking head*

"Conor is trying to tire out Khabib by letting him punch himself out" - self explanatory
I think its a mix of everything

Okay, you must be trolling now... out of all the current UFC colour commentators, Cruz is by far the worst.
Nah he’s the best, but can I axe you sumtin are you gonna be able to sleep tonight?

You can try and axe me if you're into that shit.

I might not be able to sleep tonight with you probably finding my post code and all,

Anik, Sanko, Felder, Bisping

Rogan is a mixed bag where he sometimes says insanely dumb stuff but other times is pretty insightful, he's #1 hyping things up for the audience in any case
Sankos the best.
Rogan is the best for big fights. The ohhhhhh he is hurt is legendary.

During Kleydson/Alateng last night he was saying you need underhooks to get up from closed guard, and he was effectively calling Kleydson inactive because he was controlling the back of Alateng's head.

Absolute nonsense.

He provides great technical analysis, but I just don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. He belongs on an analysis desk to provide his breakdowns.

He's overly distracting as a commentator as he disrespects his colleagues, and the fighters, making it about himself. I would rather hear Laura's less detailed technical analysis (while still being good) than listen to him CTE-dump sarcastic comments the entire fight.

I like him, he seems less biased than everyone else, he’s a little annoying because he can’t let stuff go, but it’s a quirk that is easier to deal with than 99% of the other guys. I honestly think him and felder are the best everyone else is annoying and trying to be a star or are ufc shills
Biased, no. Convoluted, yes. Very bad juju.

He's really annoying tbh. He also likes to start stuff which makes it worse. He constantly likes to remind Rogan that he's never fought and take subjective logic and act like his word is god. Bisping told a story about the commentating team hanging out getting drunk and Cruz was talking about how he could beat Bisping in a fight and Bisping was like I'm 60lbs heavier than you and Cruz said he would hit him 10 times before he realized what happened.

I don't let any of them irk, bother or affect me in any way. I mean for heaven sakes I am a grown man watching the fights myself, and having my own instant commentary upon what I see happening. Hearing the play by play announcers and color commentators give their thoughts and reactions has little or no affect upon me, and why should it. I am not a child expecting to be told what to think. Listening to the UFC commentators is not much different to me than reading the Sherdog blogs eh?

He is pretty good in terms of spotting technical details in the fight. He doesn't understand that most of the fighters aren't him. They don't have his skillset or his knowledge. He sometimes gets mad when people can't do basic escapes or see obvious openings. He is also very rigid. His method of doing something is the "right" way while some others might not see it that way.

He is an equal opportunity hater. He often commentates on fighters from his gym. He doesn't give them the special bias treatment. He might mention something snarky like this person is well trained at the end of the fight. He got a little better regarding fighting with other people in booth. He will refer out if the other commentator is a specialist or fought one of the competitors before. I am not sure if he is being a dick when he is doing it. He will often refer out to a commentator who that fighter beat.

Very well put, couldn't agree more.

I've always felt that he's probably on the spectrum with his monotone style of self-expression, his orientation to extreme detail, and how he will often come off as rude and pretty unconditional whenever he disagrees with someone else. The way you just described him also fits that conclusion to a T.

He's done pretty damn well for himself regardless of the above.
