MMA (and really the UFC) realized somewhere that Vince McMahon was out in front of them so they have imitated them and it has helped some, and now they are the same company so that's basically where we're at.The fact that the average person needs this villain bullshit persona is not only ridiculous, its complete and utter bullshit.

Pretty much! Certainly even boxing had a bit injected drama at least since Ali in the 1960s, but there was at least some restraint to it, the title shot was not awarded to the loudest talker. That has changed, theatrics are now a critical part of this.What year did that happen? When Tito started Grave Digging and provoking the Lion's Den? Lol.
