Media Dricus Du Plessis Holds No Grudge Against Sean Strickland After UFC 296 Brawl

I mean, respect on one hand, but man I get tired of "we are fighters" being used as a catch-all every time someone's a dumb, whiny, uncontrollable scumbag.

As if you'd be walking down the street, and when you pass a garbage can, Evan Mobley comes leaping in, driving straight through you with a wad of paper that he dunks on your ass in the garbage can and then walks away going, "Yeah, I'm a basketball player, what do you expect?"

The first thing you are is a person. An adult person. Make an attempt
Well said. Late post of the year candidate.

DDP so calm mist be his African DNA from his African ancestors who uswd to hunt lions and other dangerous animals!

Dricus and Sean went along with Dana's seating positions and the obligatory staged fight in order to boost ticket sales for their upcoming fight .

Dricus has interestingly come to Strickland's defense with repeated praise

“There’s no hard feelings. I still have the world’s respect for Sean Strickland. He’s a real man. I said it, and he showed that [at UFC 296]. I mean, he stood up for himself and he did what he – that’s what a real man does.

“He stood up for himself. Listen, did he behave like a champion? Probably not. But at the end of the day, champion or not, we are fighters. We are not football players. We are not sprinters. We are fighters, and that’s what we do. It’s in our DNA.”

Sean would be wise to concentrate on the upcoming fight which I think he can win with his superior boxing as Dricus is quite open in his attacks . Put a lid on the stupid runaway zjit talk , the whole world knows Sean's soft spot and he only has himself to blame for it . Let your MMA skills do the talking ... after all that is what sells PPV and will enable him to retire very comfortably if he fights 2 or 3 more times.

Dricus Du Plessis claims to have no hard feelings for Sean Strickland after their recent scuffle.

“Stillknocks” is slated to challenge Strickland for the middleweight title in the main event at UFC 297 on Jan. 20 in Toronto. The two initially got into a war of words during the UFC’s seasonal press conference in Las Vegas, which was held to promote upcoming events. Strickland and Du Plessis were seemingly seated too close for comfort a day later while in attendance at UFC 296, which resulted in a physical altercation between the two fighters. After a verbal exchange, Strickland was seen jumping over chairs to attack Du Plessis before being separated by security and escorted out of the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Du Plessis claims to harbor no ill feelings for Strickland, as he did what any “real man” in his position would have.

“For me, I was completely calm about – I wasn’t angry. I was having fun, and the security was like, ‘You need to chill.’ I’m like, ‘I’m as chill – I can’t be more chill. What do you want from me?” Du Plessis said on "The Coach and the Casual” podcast.

Cus it was a WWE style fake brawl and a severely cringey one at that. That whole thing was brutal levels of cringe

Crowd Fights Championship
you never know when the next big fight will break out!

also War Duplexes from Angola to Texas

Strickland's outburst just sold the fight. I think both men are happy.

That shit was so staged.

Before the start of the event, Sean even told Gilbert Burns and his family that at some point he is going to tell him and his son to move aside.

At the end of the ppv they just happen to announce and show the brawl, some shit they’ve never glorified before.

why would he hold a grudge over something that was completely planned and agreed upon?

that would just be ridiculous.

the worst behavior the UFC/ MMA has ever seen is being glorified. Colby's comments, DDP and Sean bringing up Strickland's abuse as child, fights in the crowd... this is what happens when you have Hollywood elites running a sports promotion. I wonder how much longer I'll be able to watch this shit because it's getting to the point where I don't buy any of it.

What DDP said was shitty. But the whole thing looked scripted … at very least aet up..

drikkkus duplessyvferguson has the correct attitude on handling pre-fight trash talk. if you think of the fight promotion stage as a separate game, “good sportsmanship” is tantamount to a sweep / reversal of position. he comes across very mature, very emotionally invulnerable, and very likable. this type of talk will win him fans, and it will also keep him out of trouble. even sean’s fans will have a hard time disliking drikkkus.

well played by drikkkus. izzy should take notes. it’s much better than whining about “he made fun of my dog.”

I think that's just the way of not letting people get in his head.

He talked some shit to the biggest shit talker, made Sean jump him and then says no big deal. D.D by KO bet the house on it.

Would be a lot cooler if he did :)
