He's a late replacement for Vettori.

Good opportunity for him, and a chance for Allen to get his last loss back.

Ahh, right, gotcha, thanks dude.

Yeah I'll go for Allen. I'm not a big believer in rematches repeating too often, and I think Allen is a better fighter on many levels than Curtis. Curtis will wait and wait and wait for the chance to blitz boxing combos at close range, but I can't see Allen falling for that again.

Holy crap..

I didn’t realize GDR’s return was this week. If Norma makes weight, that is.

I wonder if GDR would refuse if Norma misses weight? Norma has had 8 UFC fights. 7 of them were at FW. 1 at BW. She weighed 139.5 for the BW fight. And missed once at FW, too.

I really like Norma, but she is NOT a BW. She might make weight, and look like crap. Or if she misses weight, we possibly have GDR’s long awaited return cancelled (I’ve been waiting to see how she looks, after the hiatus, giving birth, and her age).

If GDR is anywhere close to where she was. It could really shake that division up. In 9 UFC fights GDR only lost to Amanda, twice. She’s beaten Rocky, Pena, and Holly (at 145). But the most recent fight, Pena was 3.5+ years ago. And GDR turns 40 later this month.

I have no idea what to expect out of that fight. 3.5 years ago I’d pick GDR all day. But this is tricky. Definitely have to wait for the weigh-ins before I even think of choosing a winner.

Thanks for the thread @PurpleStorm
You're welcome. Same here man. Just line them up and whatever fight I'm watching I'll usually find something interesting about it. Or I'll do something else. Seems basic to me.

I’m half Chilean, so Ignacio Bahamondes bouts always interest me. There aren’t many.
I'll root for him because you're a cool guy. Both fighters coming off a loss and they each need a strong performance. Going with Bahamondes as in my opinion he's a bit more diverse and creative. Has a few more ways to win, including by submission.

Past that is the return of Cynthia Calvillo, who looks to stop her years-long skid against Piera Rodriguez;

I never realized Calvillo was on a 5 fight losing streak. She's fighting for her life on this one.

And the Calvillo fight was cancelled. She was 3 pounds overweight. That might be the end of the road right there.

I can’t believe Norma made weight while 4 people missed. The card opener the BW girls were 2, and 2.5 pounds overweight. That bullshit always screws my Tap picks.

GDR is supposedly 5’9”, while Norma is 5’7”. But they looked a little further apart than that, imo. This is a wild one. I have to see if I can find any recent footage of GDR training. I wasn’t expecting Norma to make weight, AND look good doing it.

Edit.
Just a screenshot from my phone. They were both wearing runners.
